Upcycled WASTE series
Mater's waste series is driven by the Danish company's circular-economic approach to production. Created using their patented Mater Circular Materials (MCM), the designs use upcycled fibrous waste material (coffee, industrial plastic, etc) to into a unique composite material that can be press-moulded to create new furniture.
This technique allows efficient up-cycling of industrial waste while simultaneously reducing carbon emissions, instead of the waste being burned. The result is an extremely malleable material with a texture very similar to stone or marble.
This material forms the basis of the Børge Mogensen Conscious collection.
