Description
The Mendori Table Lamp, designed by Issey Miyake for Artemide, is from a series of lights which revolves around a fabric derived from entirely recycled material - PET bottles. The bottles are processed using an innovative technology that reduces both energy consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 40% when compared to the production of new materials. Miyake's designs combine 3d mathematical processes with artistic vision and the ability to create the ancient art of Japenese paper folding in a contemporary context.
Each Issey Miyake design embraces LED lighting technology and the structure of the materials - together with additional surface treatments - allows them to keep their shape without the need for an internal frame.
