The free standing Artek Kiila Coat Stand is from a series of fresh designs by Norwegian designer Daniel Rybakken from Artek. He was inspired by the works of Artek great Alvar Aalto and created an intelligent range starting from a system of construction rather than individual components. The wooden rods and metal pieces which make up Kiila designs are unapologetically heavy. In Rybakken's own words.

“There is a very apparent logic to the Kiila series and I recognise this in Aalto designs too. These are products designed within the parameters of industrial manufacture, they are intended to be part of a system that can be repeated.
