Designed by Ferruccio Laviani in 2002, the Kartell Fly Light is a striking suspension light that resembles a 'bubble of light'. The transparency of the material and the playful form of the shade recreate the idea of a soap bubble, shimmering iridescently in the light.

Description
A large bubble of light, the FL/Y Light from Kartell is made of transparent methacrylate and designed by Ferruccio Laviani. A fantastic over-the-table light and great dinner party talking point, the FL/Y Light remains a best seller and a signature piece in contemporary lighting design.
This model is the medium size with a 52cm diameter and features a glossy white finish.

Ferruccio Laviani
Ferruccio Laviani is an Italian designer born in 1960. After completing a degree in architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan in 1986, he worked at the Studio De Lucchi where he undertook projects for a diverse range of well-respected brands including Abet Laminati, Memphis and Polaroid.
Since 1991, Laviani has worked closely with Kartell and now designs exclusively for them, alongside some other world renowned designers including Antonio Citterio, Patricia Urquiola and Phillipe Starck. Some of his earliest designs he produced for Kartell such as the iconic Fly Pendant Light and the Bourgie Table Lamp are still best selling items worldwide, showing the timeless appeal and quality of this designer's work.
