The Nagasaki Dining Chair, from Gubi, was designed by Mathieu Matégot whose organic forms and innovative techniques conceived timeless and classic furniture and interior accessories. Matégot was the first to combine metal tubing with perforated sheet metal. His experimentation and developments resulted in a collection of iconic designs which are equally fit for purpose today as when they were originally conceived in the 1950s.
The harmonious and pure forms of Nagasaki create a perfectly balanced presence. Unique details such as the tiny stirrup features which hold the seat and legs together add to its sculptural allure.
The Nagasaki Chair is one of a few three-legged models and is one of Matégot's most famous works, it's significance has secured its inclusion in the permanent exhibition at the Vitra Design Museum.
The chair comes with a black frame and backpad and the seat is available in three colours; Midnight Black, Venetian Yellow & White Cloud.
