Description
In Holland Polder refers to the artificial land reclaimed from the sea by means of dikes and drainage canals. The Polder Sofa from Vitra is just as low-lying, just as flat, and with just as much emphasis on the horizontal. Designer Hella Jongerius chose six carefully selected combinations of colours and fabric qualities, accentuating them with high-tech threads and large buttons made of natural materials.
A major departure in sofa design the Polder Sofa is now a design classic. It may look unconventional but it's extremely comfortable for both sitting and lying on. With its wide arms, high and low seat backs and additional arm for stretching out/reading over this is a sofa to suit just about any relaxing activity! It comes with either right hand or left hand arm rest (as you face it) and in a number of fabric combinations. An optional ottoman/footstool is also available.
