Vitra EM Table
Designed by Jean Prouvé in 1950, the Vitra EM Table was designed for La Maison Tropicale fabricated house project in 1950. This version has a moulded steel base and a wooden top in either Natural Oak, Smoked Oak or American Walnut with a selection of metal finishes

Description
The EM Table was originally designed for the "Maison Tropicale" by Jean Prouvé. With every single detail governed by its construction, the table follows the aesthetics of necessity. This version has a solid, oiled finish wooden top in a number of woods with a bent steel support structure in various powder coated colours. These are the same colours as the Vitra SP Standard Chair, also be Prouvé. It comes in a number of different lengths with a standard height of 74cm and width of 90cm.

Jean Prouve
Jean Prouvé is regarded as one of the most influential furniture designers of the early modern design movement. Specialising in the use of steel and aluminium in his designs, he is said to have considered himself more as an engineer than a modern designer. Prouvé was a pioneer of his time concentrating purely on efficiency and the materials being used rather than just the aesthetic appeal of products. His iconic Trapeze Dining Table, manufactured by Vitra is one of his many timeless designs with its alluring appeal and versatility - flexible to apply to any design style.
