The LC14 02 Tabourets Stool was designed by Le Corbusier for the Maison du Bresil (House of Brazil) located in central Paris. This university residence houses Brazilian academics, students, teachers, and artists, and also acts as a hub for Brazilian culture.
Cassina have released this version and the larger LC14 01 Stool. This stool is constructed of solid oak with a natural wood colour and is the perfect example of Corbusier's intense design experimentation.
This simple yet refined seat has visible dovetail joints which emphasise the links between the solid wood planes and its craftsmanship. The oblong openings act as handles making it easy to position - which ever way up is desired.
The LC14 is part of the the "Cassina Maestri" collection. These are certified original designs, each of which is marked with the signature of the designer and the Cassina Maestri logo, together with the production number and identity card.
