This Homage to Mondrian Cabinet, designed by Shiro Kuramata for Cappellini, makes reference to the pioneering Dutch artist Piet Mondrian. Mondrian's abstract style of rigid grids occasionally filled with vivid primary colours, is recreated upon the front panel.
Two strong geometric designs, each inspired by Mondrian's most famous compositions, form two cabinets differing in width. The smaller of the two (PC19 - H: 116cm; W: 99cm; D: 40cm) features a splash of yellow which acts to lift the dominate black lines. The wider alternative (PC18 - H: 116cm; W: 112cm; D: 40cm) is rich in colours red, blue and yellow as seen in the main image.
The graphic front and case structure is constructed of high-density fibre conglomerate panels, matt lacquered in various colours to achieve its final design. The steel plate base support is varnished in black and includes grey rubber castors.
Homage to Mondrian is a certified original design and is marked with the Cappellini logo.
