Liverpool is a beautifully historic city with plenty of buildings and landmarks to admire. With a background of rich culture in music, food, and lifestyle, it is a bustling hub packed with experiences and activities without having to put your hand in your pocket.
Stroll around Sefton park
If the weather is nice, why not spend the day at Sefton park? A magnificent 235 acre park which is also grade 1 listed as the perfect place of a leisurely walk, a picnic with the family or even a run. It is also home to the beautiful Palm House, which regularly has lots of events going on!
The Museum of Liverpool
If the weather isn't on your side, fear not because there is still so much to do in Liverpool without getting cold and wet. The Museum of Liverpool is the largest museum dedicated to a city in the UK. This year it is also home to a very special exhibition. ‘Double fantasy’ celebrates the life of Yoko Ono and John Lennon.
The Liverpool Central Library is nothing like your run of the mill library. Take a break and sit back and relax in a book, let your little ones play on the XBOX or get some of the best views of the city on the rooftop. The library also has a discovery room for children and often host storytelling and themed days.
The Tate has been at the Royal Albert Dock for over 30 years and hosts regular free blockbuster exhibitions, this summer the Tate is home to the Keith Herring exhibition along with a stunning display of artists from 1960s to present day.
Just a short train ride outside of the city centre lies Crosby beach, away from the hustle and bustle. Admire Antony Gormley’s “Another Place” just a small section of the 50-mile coastline Liverpool City Region accommodates. Perfect for sunny days!
Rice lane city farm
Situated just outside the city centre in Walton is the Rice Lane City Farm, it is the perfect place to see some farm animals up close – all for free! There is even a petting farm where you can help take care of the animals.
Open Eye Gallery
Explore insightful and thought-provoking photography exhibitions at Liverpool’s Open Eye Gallery. Open Eye Gallery has consistently championed art and photography that is accessible to everyone.
If you're after a fun filled day out, Formby is your place to go, hop on the train and enjoy a glorious beach with dramatic sand dunes surrounded by sweeping pinewoods. Take in the views or search for some squirrels amongst the pine trees. Whether you want to walk run or ride your bike there is truly something for everybody.
