We've long been fans of Content by Terence Conran indeed, we were first on the stand when it launched way back in 2002. We hard a short break but reintroduced the collection last year for a number of reasons. Firstly, we had several customer requests for items in the collection, secondly - we love the brand and the affordability it gives and thirdly - a biggie for us - the fact that all the upholstery items are made right here in the UK!
Over the years the collection has developed and evolved into two clear categories - cabinetry, including the hugely popular Balance Shelving collection - and upholstery. Each piece has the unique Conran design signature which runs through entire range like a stick of rock. Contemporary, considered, uncluttered and timelessness give the Content by Conran collection wide appeal - and whether you group these pieces together or situate them individually in either traditional or contemporary environment their flexibility shows no bounds.
There have been several new launches in 2015, all now available from Utility. We particularly love the Stanford Sideboard which combines a slender white outer frame with twin door and drawers which feature diagonal lines - all in a place grey hue. At £999 it's a great price too!
Also new in the cabinetry collection and staying on the sideboard theme is the Henley Sideboard - a gorgeous piece with pale grey louvered doors and mounted on a natural oak leg frame which has triangular profiles. This is priced at £1195.00 - again a fantastic price for such a piece of craftsmanship. Talking of craftsmanship, Content by Terence Conran have seen big success with the metal Mica family of tables (round, square and console), hand crafted in India using traditional skills. With their slender profiles and rich enamelled tops this group of tables sit comfortably in any room. The square duo of tables - already available in grey and red and red and stone has been expanded with a mix of twin tables in grey and chartreuse - a rich yellowy mustard colour which has seen huge popularity in interior styling in 2015.
Expanding the upholstery range comes the Marchwood Sofa - a richly sumptuous sofa to sink into with plump cushions and a distinctive lived in look. Finally new in 2015 comes the Chelsea table collection. Echoing the same design as the Mica collection with its beaten metal legs, Chelsea features slender profiled white marble tops, making them suitable for just about anywhere - hall, conservatory, living room - you name it! They're available as a twin set of square nesting tables, a coffee table and - our favourite - a console table. Everything launched this year can be ordered now.
