February is upon us, which means one thing: the shelves will be filled with seriously sickly, gag-inducing, mushy-gushy Valentine’s Day cards.
For many couples this is the perfect idea of romance. Some of us, however, want something a little less lovey-dovey. No teddy bears. No love hearts. No red roses or blue violets. Just a cool card that tells it like it is.
With that in mind, we’ve put together a list of our favourite non-cheesy cards for Valentine’s Day. Whatever stage your relationship is at, there’s sure to be a card for you.
Roses Are Red Violets Are Blue - £2.50
From the outside, this Roses Are Red card - produced by cheeky card-creators Buddy Fernandez - may look like just another cheesy Valentine’s poem. However, inside you’ll find a message that reads: ‘Actually violets aren't blue they're violet. Either way I love you cheesetits’.
My Special Valentine- £2.50
There's nothing that says 'I love you' more than an inappropriate euphemism - and thanks to the 'Be My Special Valentine' card that's exactly what you could do this Valentine's Day.
Me So Hornet- £2.50
A truly romantic and heartfelt sentiment - 'Me So Hornet'. This card might have some more grown up connotations, but it certainly avoids being cheesy enough to raise a childish giggle.
Favourite Human- £2.75
Perhaps you want to tell someone that you quite like them, without going overboard with declarations of love and affection?
Talk Dirty To Me- £2.50
For that someone you can truly be your sloppy self around, this "Talk Dirty To Me" card is a great way to use your sparkling sense of humour to show just how much they mean to you.
I Love You More Than Chocolate
For chocoholics who thought dairy milk was the one before they met the one, this card is a romantic little way of showing affection without going overboard on the sop.
Hate You The Least- £2.50
For those of us who struggle to express our emotions, Hate You The Least says to your Valentine how much you like them, without actually saying how much you like them.
Love You Forever - £2.99
Okay, so this is card might be cheesier than a RomCom montage, but we just love it! It's a proper Valentine's Day card - 'Something Tells Me I'm Gonna love You Forever' - what else is there to say?
