Designed by Alexander Girard, Wooden Doll No.5 now re-produced by Vitra was designed in 1968 as part of a series for the designers Santa Fe home. Inspired by his own extensive collection of works and popular art, this quirky, whimsical wooden figure is crafted from solid pine wood, hand painted and presented in a wooden gift box.
The original Wooden Doll collection now resides in the Vitra Design Museum alongside other pieces from the Girard estate but thanks to Vitra, you can now own your very own piece of design history.
Alexander Girard was amongst the leading designers of post-war America in the 50's / 60's and was known for drawing inspiration from folk art from South America, Eastern Europe & Asia.
