The Jill Tube Chair, the first collaboration between Alfredo Haberli and Vitra, is a design inspired by the early days of plywood moulding - and in particular the work of Charles and Ray Eames. Jill explores the modern boundaries of the technique whilst also offering a surprising level of comfort.
Whilst paying homage to the early design in plywood moulding Haberli has moved the aesthetic forward to today - incorporating the state of the art in plywood technology in an organically shaped seat shell. In a patented process, Jill's veneers are curved until they meet in the middle of the seat. This creates a flexible shell which features an open transition from the seat to the back, with the thickness of the veneer tapering towards the top of the chair. This flexible shell creates a sculptural form which follows the contours of the body and accommodates it with amazing comfort.
Jill is available in various wooden seat finishes with legs in either a chrome or 'basic dark' powder coated finish.See more Dining Chairs.
