Description
The classic Eames Side Chair from Vitra has been transformed here into a height adjustable office/operators chair, known as PSCC which stand for "Pivot Side Chair Cast Base". Designed by Charles & Ray Eames the familiar silhouette is mounted on a polished aluminium five star castor base.
As with all Eames Plastic Chairs this version comes with a shell in the full range of colours together with either an upholstered seat or fully upholstered seat and back in Hopsak fabric to suit any office interior.
What does RE mean on Vitra products?
Products marked RE use recycled materials. Vitra's commitment to more environmentally sustainable production has led them to engineer the Eames Plastic Shell chairs from recycled post-consumer plastic. The recycled material stems from German household waste collected via the "Yellow Bag" (Gelber Sack) system. Utilising this material instead of virgin plastic generates fewer climate-damaging emissions and consumes significantly less energy, all while maintaining Vitra's incredibly high standards.

Charles & Ray Eames
American husband and wife design duo Charles and Ray Eames have had a profound influence on the visual character of American life, producing original work within the fields of architecture, furniture design, industrial design, manufacturing and the photographic arts.
The Eames’ first partnered with Vitra in 1957 to produce some of the most iconic pieces of furniture in the history of interior design. Today Vitra continues to reflect their philosophy on design and functionality, best understood through Charles’ own words: “Recognising the need is the primary condition for the design”.
