Giancarlo Mattioli

Giancarlo Mattioli

Giancarlo Mattioli is an Italian designer. Born in 1933 he rose to fame during the 1950s and 60s. He is most well known for his Nesso Table Lamp. A part of the collection at New Yorks Museum of Modern Art and other important museums, Nesso remains stylish and modern despite being created in the mid 20th century and is still being manufactured by Artemide. In the 1960s Mattioloi formed the Gruppo Architetti Urbanisti "Città Nuova" together with Pierluigi Cervellati, Umberto Maccaferri, Franco Morelli, Gianpaolo Mazzucato and Mario Zaffagnini.
