Zaha Hadid has designed the Niche Centrepiece for Alessi Officina and it possesses all the smooth flowing transitions between its various forms, uniting jagged, angled and smooth surfaces and shapes; characteristics which are so prevalent in her work.

Made from black melamine Niche is whatever you want it to be. Designed as a table centrepiece it can also be used as a decorative element, a dish for snacks (such as olives which can be cradled in its concave surfaces) or as a tactile puzzle. It's actually created from five individual elements which can be fitted together or displayed individually to show its various forms.
