The Eames Wire Chair from Vitra is a variation on the organically shaped one piece seat shell, but with its technical wire construction this version gives the chair a light transparency.

There are two versions of the wire chair available - the DKR with the Eiffel Tower style leg base and this version, the DKX, with the conventional four leg base. Known as the 'DKX', this stands for 'Dining Height Cross Base'.

Like the DKX the DKY Wire Chair is available with or without upholstery, with a single seat cushion or a full seat and backrest cushion. Because of its shape, this two piece upholstery is sometimes referred to as a 'bikini chair'!
