The Gubi Semi Pendant Light was designed by Danish architects, Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup, in 1967. In 1968 the light won an industrial competition at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture on the grounds of the lamp's unique geometric design. The light became world famous for its curved, enameled metal design based on a quarter of a circle.
The elegant design of the Gubi Semi Pendant Light means that it can be used in both domestic and public/work environments. It was designed so that the lamp could hang without being too dominant and the use of a half-mirrored light bulb casts light around a room without dazzling.
The Semi is available in various colours and sizes. The coloured versions have a glossy finish whilst the black and white are matt. Each comes with a fabric covered flex and complementary ceiling rose.
