This Artek lounge chair or chaise by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto was designed in 1936-1937 and first shown in the Finnish Pavilion designed by Aalto for the Paris World's Fair.

With black webbing the chair has a cantilevered construction made from laminated birch to provide the arms and sled base.
