VITRA Basel Chair
The Basel Chair from Vitra is an interpretation of a classic wooden chair by Jasper Morrison.
Whilst simple wooden chairs have been produced by various manufacturers, including Vitra, in great numbers for over a century, the Basel Chair renews this classic genre with simple balanced proportions. However, unlike previous creations the Basel Chair introduces moulded plastic into the seat and back.
This new combination of wood and plastic gives a more pronounced organic shape than a pure wooden chair. The surface is textured and slim and thus more flexible. This combination of plastic and wood means the Basel Chair proves to be extremely comfortable.
The frame is crafted from stained beech whilst the seat and back are made from ASA plastic dyed throughout.
We have TWO ex-display Vitra Basel chairs in a BLACK BEECH FRAME with a BASIC DARK seat and back. Both chairs have FELT glides so they are suitable for use on hard floor surfaces. These chairs are ex-display and are in fantastic condition although they have slight scratches to the surface, hence the massive discount.
