The original Swan Sofa, like the Swan Chair, was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1958 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen - a project for which Jacobsen designed everything from the building itself right down to the furniture and bathroom taps.

With its daring curves the design of the Swan Sofa was groundbreaking in furniture design and since then has become a design classic - not least because of its commercial popularity and instantly recognisable silhouette.

Manufactured by Fritz Hansen in Denmark the Swan Sofa has seen many copies made. Here at Utility we only sell the Fritz Hansen original.

This is the fabric upholstered version shown in the most popular Divina (smooth) and Tonus (slightly more textured) fabrics from Kvadrat (www.kvadrat.dk).
