Fritz Hansen Ant Chair

The Ant Chair by Arne Jacobsen was designed in 1952, a predecessor to the Series 7 Chair. Not very popular when it was first launched the original had only three legs and no arms - a radical approach to chair design at the time! Whilst the three legged version is still available (please call us for prices) here we feature the most popular four legged version with a chrome base.

The slender shell is made up of 9 layers of beech veneer and has a chromed four leg base, making the Ant a stackable chair. Its shape also allows Ant to flex to the body's contours, making it an extremely comfortable chair.

Suitable for just about any application the Ant Chair comes in many painted coloured options as well as a two natural wood veneer finishes. See below for further information.

The Ant Chair always has impact and looks particularly good where colours have been mixed.

Finishes:

Coloured Ash - Ash has a wide grain and this is fully visible through the colour finish.
Painted Beech - Beech has a fine grain which is visible but muted. Almost no surface texture with a uniform colour.
Lacquered - Uniform, silky soft surface with no visible grain. The colour appears extra clear on a completely smooth surface.
