Is it a plant ? No - Merdolino from Alessi is the funky toilet brush and holder.
Merdolino was the first object Alessi produced for the bathroom and one that was not free of criticism for having dared such a difficult subject. Designer Stefano Giovannoni brought a welcome breath of poetry - not to mention toilet humour - to an otherwise difficult product to design.
Here the usual holder is replaced by what looks like a pot, out of which sprouts a curious green cactus. This radical design opened up whole new vistas in product development and Giovanni has been prolific in this area ever since.
Merdolino has green handle and there are a choice of base colours : blue, orange or brown.
