The Tiffany Tray, originally designed by Silvio Coppola in 1975, was put back into production in 2008 by Alessi at the request of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

An understated design the Tiffany Tray has handles which wrap around the end - meaning the fingers can slide through the gap between them and the tray surface, providing comfortable and steady carrying. The handles themselves also form an edge to the ends which, in addition to the upturned sides of the tray ensure the contents remain secure.

The handles and sides of the tray are polished whilst the surface is matt. Coppola was renowned for his extraordinary skill in freehand drawing and, at the same time, his terrible temperament!

His work for Alessi is classified in the last phase of the 'Bel design' phenomenon which characterised Italian design in the 1960s and 1970s.
