This is Vitra's re-edition of the now legendary Eames DSW fibre glass chair with a maple leg base. It is based on the original 1950 fibreglass design of the first industrially manufactured plastic chair.
In 1993 Vitra discontiuned production for ecological reasons as fibreglass cannot be re-cycled. Thanks to recent advances in technology it was produced in collaboration with Zenith Plastics for the Museum of Modern Art's Low Cost Furniture Design competition in polypropylene.
The DSW comes available in six colours: black, grey, light blue, lime yellow, red and white.
