Rodolfo Dordoni
Born in Milan in 1954 RODOLFO DORDONI graduated in Architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan in 1979. DORDONI’s designs are characterized by balanced proportions, elegant functionality and formal rigour. Convinced that objects have a powerful influence on mood he designs products which are discreet yet pleasing and often include an unexpected feature. He has collaborated with well known Italian manufacturers such as Artemide, Foscarini (Lumiere Lamp) and Cappellini and has produced a body of work including collaborations with De Sede, Driade, Crasseveig. Montina, Acerbis, Arteluce, Casakit, Sarila, Venini, Flos, Lema, FontanaArte, Schopenhauer, Minotti, Flou and Molteni in both product development and art direction. He has also created exhibition stands, residential developments and showrooms, most notably for Dolce & Gabanna’s worldwide store rollout.
Though his designs are rarely spectacular they are gently innovative and exhibit a confident command of the classic Modernist repertoire.
