Utility Price Promise

As an independent retailer selling premium quality design at Utility we aim to be price competitive on the items we sell - without compromising on the exceptional service we strive to achieve.

We realise the cost conscious consumer in us all will use the internet to shop around for the best price, which is why we have introduced the Utility Price Promise. Some of our competitors may advertise the same product we are selling but for a cheaper price. We would like to reassure our customers that we only sell at the R.R.P (recommended retail price). If, however, the same branded item is found at a lower price to that shown on our website we will price match or, where we can, beat a competitor’s price on a like for like basis ie: exactly the same product, specification and open trading conditions and taking into account shipping fees etc.

Many suppliers are now taking action against companies who don’t have stores and proper showrooms such as industrial park units posing as 'shops' to show their products and sell online only - then undermine the value in a design by heavy discounting just to secure a sale. At Utility customers can be safe in the knowledge they are purchasing from an established, industry respected company with bricks and mortar stores. In operating in this way we like to think we are doing our bit for the British economy by creating careers for the 30 strong team which makes up Utility. More importantly, though, most suppliers now give web only stores a smaller discount to companies who have real shop, meaning those of us who do have real shops get better discounts which we can, in turn, pass on to our customers through better pricin, more competitive.

We are aware other retailers may go out of their way to secure sales by email offers, club memberships and one off discounts but at Utility we like to think our approach is open and honest pricing without any gimmicks to entice customers to purchase.
