The word 'Mooi' beans beautiful in Dutch. Moooi added and extra 'o' to make extra beautiful.
Moooi was launched in 2001 after Casper Vissers and Hans Lensvelt bought Marcel Wanders' company 'Wanders Wonders'. Retaining him as art director he has gone on to create some iconic designs for the company. Moooi has become a trailblazer in furniture and lighting design - making products which are both visually strong, highly functional and individual such as the Smoke Chair, Light Shade Shade Chandelier, Pig Table and Horse Lamp. Taking a glance at the long list of creative talent associated with Moooi shows the extent to which it reaps the rewards which flourish in the hothouse of Dutch architecture, art and design.
Utility has been a Moooi dealer and stockist since 2004.
