Magis was founded in 1976 by Eugenio Perazza as a 'firm of designers'. Based near Venice the company views itself as a kind of publisher of products which gathers together the different languages and styles of international designers.
Perazza gives his designers considerable free reign and is himself passionately involved in the creative process of each individual product. Magis has a team of hand picked specialists and suppliers who are ready to react flexibly and quickly to the ideas of the individual designers and over the past three decades has built up a range of fresh, vivid furniture and everyday objects created by such illustruious designers as Jasper Morrison, Karim Rashid, Stefano Giovannoni and Marc Newson to name but a few.
Magis' primary focus has been on two primary materials : plastic and metal and has used these to create a new an innovative flow of products including the now legendary Bombo barstool by Stefano Giovannoni in 1997 and the loveable Puppy by Eera Arnio in 2005. The company continues to excite, innovate and push the boundaries within the furniture and accessory market, introducing new and up and coming designers and products to its stable of tried and tested designs.
