Luceplan

Luceplan was formed in 1978, by three architects who had previously collaborated over many years with the well-respected designer Gino Sarfatti, founder of Arteluce. Riccardo Sarfatti, Paolo Rizzatto and Sandra Severi founded the brand with the philosophy of creating beautiful pieces that were accessible to the mass market. Experimentation, research and quality is always at the forefront of each design conception, alongside the companies passion for design and entrepreneurial courage. A commitment to ecological innovation has helped to establish Luceplan and has consequently led to them winning several international awards including the European award, Lights of the Future.

Luceplan produce both interior and exterior lighting with the intention of enhancing the quality of everyday living. They do not just consider the whole design and development process but also the life span and disposal of their products. They believe strongly that a product should be a durable investment piece that’s timeless appearance not only outlives fashions, but also so that each part can be dismantled and recycled so that it creates as little impact to the environment as possible.

In recent years Luceplan has expanded from purely concentrating on designs for the home and now looks to extend its philosophy into the workplace environment as well. Elementi di Luceplan was set up in 2006 to provide lighting systems to offices and other industrial sectors, to help to encourage eco-friendly solutions to every element of our lives. They have already consolidated their presence worldwide through the creation of ‘green’ buildings, with their most famous being the New York Times Building, in New York.
