Eero Aarnio
Born in 1932 in Helsinki, Finland. Eero Aarnio is famed for his use of experimentation of plastics in vivid colours setting his work apart from other designers through his use of organic form within his designs. Many of his pieces are included in the world’s most prestigious museums, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, MoMA in New York and Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein. His designs have received many awards over the years including the Compasso d’Oro design award and led to him being awarded the honorary title of Professor by the President of Finland in 2007. His most recent pieces have included work commissioned by the well-respected brand Alessi, these include the Citrus juicer and Mouse magnetic bottle opener.
