Home > Artemide
In every decade since Artemide was launched in 1959 by the architect Sergio Mazza and design enthusiast/aeronautical engineer Ernesto Giusmonsi the company has created products which were innovative for their time, many of which are still in production. There are a plethora of classic designs in Artemide's catalogue but one lamp is the most famous - Tizio, designed by Richard Sapper. Highly functional, timeless, elegant and innovative in technology and design this table structure remains a best seller more than thirty years since it was introduced. The Tolomeo Desk Lamp by Michele De Lucchi closely rivals this success. There must hardly be an architects office or design studio which doesn't boast at least one of these. Today Artemide continues to produce a large range of lighting and is one of Europe's leading designers of architectural lighting for commercial applications.
Artemide continues to collaborate with international designers and architects including Antonio Citterio, Rodolfo Dordoni, Norman Foster, Karim Rashid, James Irvine, Ross Lovegrove and Hannes Wettstein amongst others.
Utility has been an Artemide lighting stockist and dealer since 2002.
