Andrea Branzi
1938 -
Andrea BRANZI was born in Florence in 1938 and qualified as an architect in 1966. In 1979 he was awarded the Compasso d’Oro, Italy’s most coveted design prize for his contribution to architecture, design and design theory. He also received this again in 1987. Although he inclines towards the theoretical and intellectual he has work continually as a product designer for more than three decades for leading Italian companies such as Alessi (Ercolono Bottle Opener, Mama O Kettle, Toothpick Dispenser) Artemide, Cassina (Revers Chair) and Zanotta (Animali Domestici bench, Berlino armchair, Niccola armchair).
