VITRA
Vitra is a furniture and accessories manufacturer established by Willi Fehlbaum when he took over a shop fitting business in Basel, Switzerland in 1934. It was in 1957, though, when the company's fortunes really changed when American company Hermann Miller granted Vitra the European rights to produce and distribute the extensive and highly coveted Charles and Ray Eames and George Nelson catalogue of furniture and home accessories. This was followed in 1960 with the introduction of the hugely successful Panton Chair by Danish designer Verner Panton. Today the company not only produces these original design classics but works with designers such as Antonio Citterio, Jasper Morrison and Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec to create fresh designs for today's modern interiors. Vitra dealers since 2000 Utility is one of their core UK dealers and showrooms.
