InformationPiggyback, by British designer Thomas Heatherwick for Magis, offers an ingenious solution to the modern extending table.
Two stackable rectangular tables unite via a grove and slot system to become one - 'Piggybacking' its twin. Once divided, an extending table is obtained offering greater control. A range of configurations are possible - joining at all sides or simply used as two singles. The opposing gradient of each tabletop edge ensures a clean join and level surface.
Piggyback is a set of two matching tops and eight legs which require some assembly. Various options are available; polished die-cast aluminium legs with either an oak plywood top painted white, stained wenge or in natural oak. The white painted leg option features a matching white painted top and the brown legs a stained wenge tabletop.
Plastic inserts ensure the tables easily slot together. These are fitted to each leg and to the four slot holes located on one of the tabletops surface in each corner.
