The Womb Chair & Ottoman, designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll, was the first piece of mass produced furniture with an integrated seat shell made of reinforced plastic. Saarinen developed the chair at Florence Knoll's request as she really wanted something to curl up in.
The foam-covered moulded reinforced fibreglass seat shell supports multiple seating positions for increased relaxation and cosiness which is reflected in the name. The ottoman's classic shape is achieved via foam cushion over a moulded plywood platform. The cushions, of polyester fibre with foam core, envelop the sitter in a world of comfort - beautifully supported by steel rod legs with a polished chrome finish.

There are now two size options available; original and the new version, Medium.
The Womb Chair & Ottoman is available in a broad spectrum of colours from various Kvadrat fabrics which are all suitable for both contract and domestic use.
