Designed by Mathieu Matégot, the Gubi Dedal Bookshelf is made from bent perforated sheet metal. Group Dedal shelves of any colour together to create a colourful shelving composition in your home.

Description
The Dedal Bookshelf, from Gubi, was designed by Mathieu Matégot whose organic forms and innovative techniques conceived timeless and classic furniture and interior accessories.
Matégot was the first to combine metal tubing with perforated sheet metal. His experimentation and developments resulted in a collection of iconic designs which are equally fit for purpose today as when they were originally conceived in the 1950s.
Dedal's stepped shape makes each separate element easy to combine. The range of colours available allow a range of enticing compositions to be achieved.

Mathieu Mategot
Mathieu Matégot, was born in 1910 near Budapest, Hungary and became one of the most renowned designers of the 1950s. He has created scenery and tapestries for the National Theatre and later settled in France, volunteering for the French army in World War II. As a prisoner of War he worked in a plant manufacturing mechanical accessories learning the techniques and potential of sheet metal. This knowledge led him to later design a collection of furniture and interior accessories combining perforated sheet metal and metal tubing. The Matégot Collection, from Gubi, is a series of his classic and iconic designs which are equally fit for purpose today as when they where created in the 1950s.
