Carl Hansen CH07 Shell Chair - Black Edition
The CH07 Shell Chair from Carl Hansen & Son was designed by Hans J.Wegnerin 1963. With its three legs this is a sculptural chair best placed where it can be viewed from all sides, on its own or in groups.
Made in Denmark from form-pressed wood veneer this Black Edition of the chair is finished in either black painted beech or oak. This is complemented with a seat and back upholstery in a range of Mourne fabrics or leathers. Sometimes called "The Smiling Chair", the three-legged construction provides absolute stability; the chair achieves a floating lightness due to its wing-like seat and the arching curves of its tapered legs.
Fabric Description :
Mourne Mist : 90% wool and 10% cotton machine made textile. Martindale : 50,000
Thor Leather - This semi-aniline leather has a natural grain and its occasional slight scars and markings add to its individuality. Coated with a protective layer to increase practicality and withstand stains and fading, this leather will wear slightly over time adding to it's appearance.
Black Editions - Every Piece Has A Story
The Carl Hansen & Son Black Editions campaign has reinvented some of their most popular chairs in an all black colour way. They teamed up with Mourne Textiles who created a series of fabrics in wool and leather for the series. The Black Editions campaign ends on December 21st 2016, so make sure you get your hands on a piece of iconic furniture at a great price whilst you can!
